First I am an Independent Truck driver in Minnesota that is struggling to make a living. I have been doing this for 15 years. I started following politics more closely after 9/11. I just wanted to give you my opinion of what I have seen and heard about Senator Obama. Some true some exaggerated I am sure but I believe with the exaggerations there is truth.
Barack Obama has some strange friends. He hung out with Reverend Wright for 20 years yet he never heard him say anything anti American or racist. Then you have Mr. Ayers a known terrorist from the weather underground who tried blowing up government buildings. Then he started his political career at the Ayers house. We cannot forget the person who helped Senator Obama get his home, Tony Rezko. If I remember correctly he was just convicted of corruption in Chicago.
These are some of the people that Senator Obama associates with or has associated with in the past. He has stated that he broke ties with these people but he did associate with them. Some I still believe he deals with in my opinion.
As far as Senator Obama running for president I do not believe he has the experience. He was in the state senate in Illinois for two terms then this is the first term in the U.S. Senate. He worked as a “Community Organizer” which from what I understand is to help low income people to get a step up. This is accomplished by bringing money into the community, setting up jobs, trying to reduce crime. I have been in South Chicago it is far from being a safe community. I believe I read that he did get money brought into the community, around $200,000.00 dollars. I also read that it went to Father Plegars church, another associate of Senator Obama that is in the radical realm. He also stated that he taught constitutional law yet he believes that the constitution is a living document that can be interpreted in different ways. To me I believe that the constitution is set in stone with provisions to change it. To change it” We the People” have to change it not congress or the president. Again I just do not believe he has the experience.
Senator Obama has had a lot of interviews since this campaign has begun. I watched the Sarah Palin interviews and they were much tougher than any interview that Senator Obama has ever had. It seems that Senator Obama does not want to be confronted with hard questions or if you get lucky enough to interview him and press him on what he would do in certain situations he dodges the question.
Senator Obama has many strange acquaintances and friends. He also believes the Constitution in a living document. The proof is in his actions. He sent a letters to TV stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania threatening them with legal action if they don’t stop running NRA ads. They also sent one to Jefferson City MO. This is an infringement on the first amendment. The ads that the NRA ran showed his voting history (when he voted) while in the IL state senate and the US senate. The NRA would not spend an enormous amount of money if they did not research their claims against Senator Obama.
The associations and the letters to these states show me that when Obama wants “Change” he will try to change the constitution by putting judges in the Supreme Court that think like he does. The judges should not bring their ideals to the courts; they need to follow the law and the Constitution. There is a way to change the Constitution; it is changed by “We the People”. In my humble opinion Senator Obama will change this country in a bad way. He just flat out scares me. If he is elected president he will try to change this country to the way he feels that it should be not the way the people want it. I drive around the state of MN. And watch what signs are on people’s lawns and cars. Obama is in the inner city were most of the entitlements are received and McCain is outside the cities. If Obama is elected people will receive more benefits from the government and loose the drive that makes this country great, the drive to succeed, to get ahead to support yourself with as little help from the government as necessary. Now don’t get me wrong, people need a safety net in case something in their life goes wrong. We don’t need a lifetime or generations of entitlements. The old saying I believe is true, Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. People really need to be careful when they vote this year. Make sure you know what kind of “Change” you really want.
